Dear community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
My name is Father Edgar Rivera. I was born on April 17th in the State of Nayarit, Mexico. After completing my seminary studies at Mount Angel in St. Benedict, OR, I was ordained on June 5th, 2015, by the most reverend Archbishop Alexander K. Sample in the parish of St. Mary Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. My first assignment as a parochial vicar was at St. Mary’s in Eugene, OR where I served for three years. After that, for 5 years I was the pastor of both St. Helen & St. Rose parishes.
Now, I am so excited to come this wonderful parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. I trust in God that he will give me the strength to continue feeding this community with much love and enthusiasm through the Sacred Eucharist. I am open to learn and to work about what is most important for our community. I hope that we will continue to grow together in our faith and in Jesus Christ.
Finally, I have many hobbies that I enjoy during my day off, such as swimming, reading, watching movies and cooking. I hope one day you all may be able to enjoy one of my seafood dishes.
Dear community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, I commend myself to your prayers and rest assured you always be in mine. I invite you to walk together in this new chapter that God has entrusted to you and me within this community.
In Christ,
Fr. Edgar Rivera
